In their latest PR release about iPhone 4 sales, Apple once again confirmed the iPhone 4 will be launched in Australia “by the end of July”. We have received two separate emails that provide specific information to corroborate a pending July 23rd launch.
According to our tipster, with close ties to an Apple Store (and would like to remain anonymous), here are some vague details we are able to provide:
- Word around the store is a July 23rd launch for the iPhone 4 launch in Australia.
- No one is allowed to book time off on that day.
- Employees have been asked to start shifts at 7:00AM on that day.
- Update (Wed July 7): Pre-orders will be given preference. There will be limited stock available on the day for those who plan to walk in and buy. Limited stock is a result of outstanding demand overseas, particularly in the US.
- Update (Thurs July 8): You cannot reserve a One-to-One or Genius Bar appointment on the Apple website on the 23rd July.
All we can do now is wait. Rest assured that as we inch closer into the end of July, the iPhone 4 launch date will soon by announced by Telstra, Optus, Vodafone, Virgin and Three. Follow us (@AusiPhoneiPad) on Twitter and get instant notifications when pre-orders and carrier plans are available!
